Nixon introduces Limited Rubber Player with Harvey Nichols
01.27.10 Nixon will release a special exclusive colorway for Harvey Nichols, the international luxury lifestyle store, in the rubber player program. The Nixon x Harvey Nichols Rubber Player is limited to only 60 pieces.
The Rubber Player is a unique, new interpretation on the original Player model from Nixon and has been one of the most sought after pieces from the Nixon line for 2009.
The Nixon x Harvey Nichols Rubber Player is available in grey and features a 3-hand Japanese quartz movement, a silicon band, custom-engraved caseback and diamond. Th is limited watch will also come with a collector’s kit stand and packaging and will retail for £160.
Elena Hight added to US Olympic Snowboard Team
01.27.10 Halfpipe rider Elena Hight have been added to the U.S. Olympic Snowboarding team. The full team was announced Monday and also includes 2006 snowboardcross silver medalist Lindsey Jacobellis and gold medalist Seth Wescott and 2002 parallel giant slalom bronze medalist Chris Klug. Six halfpipe riders -- Gretchen Bleiler, Heather Clark, Scotty Lago, Hannah Teter, Louie Vito, and Shaun White -- were selected for the team Saturday. White and Teter are defending Olympic champions. The rest of the team: Graham Watanabe, Nick Baumgartner, Nate Holland, Callan Chythlook-Sifsof and Faye Gulini in snowboardcross, and Tyler Jewell and Michelle Gorgone in PGS.

01.25.10 In honor of Mos Def’s 2 GRAMMY Award nods, HVW8, Union LA and Frolab are ECSTATIC to announce the upcoming photo show entitled “MOS DEF: ECSTATIC MOMENTS” – a one week exhibition showcasing rare performance and behind-the-scenes images captured by Cognito while accompanying Mos Def on the two year journey of making and supporting the June 2009 release of “The Ecstatic”.

Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins dials pink to launch B4BC Iphone app
01.22.10 Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) is excited to announce the launch of a new iPhone application, the “Pink B.A.T Phone” (Breast Cancer Awareness Telephone). With the help of professional skateboarder Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins, the iPhone app, the first of its kind, is being launched with a viral video campaign featuring Hawkins as well as onsite promotions at major action sports events in 2010.
The unique app turns an iPhone’s dial pad pink and includes information tabs on how to do a breast self-exam, as well as, the importance of early detection, an active lifestyle and other tips on increasing your odds against breast cancer. Similar to wearing a pink ribbon or bracelet, sporting a pink phone will show the world that you support B4BC and breast cancer awareness.

Ultradome, presented by Milo Ventimiglia launches solving an age old debate
01.20.10 Ever wonder who would win in a battle between a Jedi Knight and Frodo Baggins? Step into the Ultradome and see if a hobbit can overcome some Jedi mind tricks.
DiVide Pictures, actor/producer Milo Ventimiglia's production company, presents Ultradome, a tongue-in-cheek, short-format digital video series that taps into the comic book, video game, action-adventure, fantasy and science-fiction culture. Each episode of Ultradome begins with two characters engaged in a heated and humorous pop culture debate, such as "Should I have a Lord of the Rings- or a Star Wars-themed wedding?," or "Could Harry Potter beat Neo in a fight?" Reaching a fever-pitched stalemate, the characters find themselves transported to the Ultradome - a packed stadium where the two engage in single combat, using weaponry, gear and skills from the pop culture touchstones referenced in the argument. Nothing is off limits inside the Ultradome - and creative and casting possibilities are endless, as Ventimiglia and Agility plan to use connections to sci-fi enthusiast actors, writers and directors to build a bevy of high-profile cameos and cinematic visual effects.
